The Discovery We've Been Waiting Centuries For
December 2025. For the first time in recorded history, satellites orbiting hundreds of miles above Earth may have finally peered beneath the Giza plateau and seen what ancient texts, legends, and dreamers have all whispered about and described for millennia: something enormous is hiding under the Pyramids.
There are even talks of scans revealing the existance of a legit 40 foot sized tic-tac shaped "metallic" object under there. A tic-tac underneath a pyramid? Count me in. I've kept this story to a minimum so I can update it as more information comes out. Imagine this is all, or even a single part of it, true. Hooooooly...
The Breakthrough Technology
An Italian research team led by Filippo Biondi and Corrado Malanga used Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Doppler Tomography, advanced space-based radar that captures microscopic surface vibrations caused by underground structures. By analyzing data from multiple satellites (Cosmo-SkyMed, ICEYE, Capella), they created detailed 3D maps without ever touching Egyptian soil. Zahi "it's in my book" Hawass must have been seething when he heard. Good.
What They Claim to See Under Khafre
The Pyramid of Khafre – the perfectly preserved middle pyramid – sits atop:
- Eight massive vertical cylindrical shafts, 33-39 feet wide
- Spiral pathways wrapping around central columns
- Shafts descending over 2,000 feet – some models suggest 3,500+
- Two enormous cubic chambers at the bottom, each roughly 260 feet per side
- Possible connections forming a larger network under all three main pyramids
The Team and Their Breakthrough Method
The Khafre Research Project is led by radar engineer Filippo Biondi (formerly University of Strathclyde) and chemist/ufologist Corrado Malanga (University of Pisa), with contributions from Armando Mei and Nicole Ciccolo. Their 2022 peer-reviewed paper proved the technique on the Great Pyramid's internal structures. Now, they've applied it deeper.
The magic is Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Doppler Tomography. These satellites send radar waves that detect tiny surface vibrations (phonons) caused by what's below. Then proprietary software turns the data from those vibrations into 3D maps showing the structure under the ground. The data came from multiple satellites (Cosmo-SkyMed, ICEYE, Capella, Umbra) with matching results across all operators.
What the Scans Allegedly Show Under Khafre
The middle pyramid sits atop something immense:
- Eight massive hollow cylindrical shafts, 33–39 feet wide, each with a central column wrapped in perfect helical spirals (like staircases or coils)
- Shafts plunging 2,100–3,500+ feet deep (deeper than the Eiffel Tower is tall)
- Two enormous cubic chambers at the bottom, each ~260 x 260 x 260 feet – larger than many stadiums
- Geometric pathways connecting five multi-level structures near the base
- Hints of a water system or pipelines descending even further
- Similar (smaller) features under Menkaure and the Sphinx; possible extension across the entire plateau
Why This Could Change Everything
If real, these structures predate dynastic Egypt by millennia. Theories that make the imagination soar:
- An ancient energy grid or resonance machine (echoing Christopher Dunn's Giza Power Plant ideas)
- A massive water management system from when the Sahara was green
- The legendary Hall of Records foretold by Edgar Cayce
- Evidence of a lost advanced civilization
The team even found similar spiral shafts 30 miles away at Hawara, the site of the ancient Labyrinth described by Herodotus. The extremely vivid descriptions giving my multi histoorical figures of the Labyrinth make it seem they were more impressed by it than the actual pyramids.
"This I have actually seen, a work beyond words. For if anyone put together the buildings of the Greeks and display of their labours, they would seem lesser in both effort and expense to this labyrinth… Even the pyramids are beyond words, yet the labyrinth surpasses even the pyramids. It has twelve covered courts... with gates facing one another... The upper set of chambers we ourselves saw... passing through we came to the monuments...Over the whole of these is a roof made of stone like the walls; and the walls are covered with figures carved upon them, each court being surrounded with pillars of white stone fitted together most perfectly... Such is this labyrinth."
- Herodotus (c. 484–425 BC), Histories, Book II, 148.
"There is also the labyrinth... a building comparable to the pyramids... It has a table-like plain in front of it, and a village nearby. Beside the canal is the labyrinth, a building comparable to the pyramids... It contains temples of all the Egyptian gods... and moreover twelve halls roofed over... No stranger can find his way either into any court or out of it without a guide."
- Strabo (c. 64 BC – AD 24), Geography, Book 17
"Let us speak also of labyrinths, quite the most extraordinary works on which men have spent their money... There still exists even now in Egypt... the one which was built first... Daedalus used this as the model for the Labyrinth which he built in Crete is beyond doubt, but it is equally clear that he imitated only the hundredth part of it which contains twisting paths and passages... all impossible to negotiate... with doors placed alternately so that they deceive the traveler at every turn."
- Pliny the Elder (AD 23–79), Natural History, Book 36
I mean they can't all of been making up a story of a unbelievably huge Labyrinth that was true wonder of the world, right? Herodotus seen it with his own eyes and his full recalling of it is remarkable, and he basically says there is no way men (of his time), not even the Greeks who WERE constructing wonders themselves, built this Labyrinth.
The Skepdiks Speak – And Why Hope Persists
Not everyone is convinced the findings are real of course. Obviously that charlatan Zahi "it's in my book!" Hawass calls it "completely wrong" and "fake news," saying the pyramid base is solid bedrock and radar can't penetrate that deep. If you can introduce Hawass to people in Atlanta he'd change his tune. Fact-checkers like Snopes and AFP label the deep claims unproven, noting no new peer-reviewed paper for the kilometer depths (only the 2022 internal work) but don't ouright dismiss the claims.
But the team counters with blind tests (perfectly imaging buried labs in Italy) and consistent data from four satellite companies. They've submitted formal excavation proposals using existing debris-filled shafts as entry points, no drilling needed.
The Egyptian authorities haven't approved excavation as of 12/12/2025.
If It's Real – What Could It Mean?
A structure this vast and deep would predate known Egyptian civilization by thousands of years. Possibilities that make the heart race:
- Ancient power plant or resonance technology
- Underground water management system for a greener Sahara
- The fabled Hall of Records described by Edgar Cayce
- Evidence of a lost pre-dynastic civilization
Imagine any of these turns out to be real, I'd lose my mind haha.
The Current Status
As of December 2025, mainstream archaeologists remain cautious calling for peer review and ground verification. Egyptian authorities have not yet approved excavation. But the official ScanPyramids project did confirm new voids inside Menkaure in November 2025, proving that modern non-invasive tech is finding real secrets under the sands.

Final Verdict
THE DISCOVERY THAT COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING. For now it's a small amount of public data and beautiful renderings, but if even part of this turns out to be real, we're standing on the edge of the greatest archaeological revelation in human history. The pyramids have kept their deepest secret for 4,500 years. Maybe, just maybe, satellites have finally found the door. I'm 100% convinced there is somthing under there, but I'm not sure what it is. I hope 2026 brings us the answers.
